Night of European Researchers
Friday September 24, in celebration of the Night of European Researchers, CERN will be hosting two simultaneous events between 17.00 and 01.00:
Globeshow : Eight hours of live webcast from the Globe, which, through videoconferencing, is transformed into the platform connecting Europe to scientific laboratories from the furthest corners of the world – including scientists working on the Ice Cube project in the South Pole.
Students in the LHC control rooms: More than 100 school students will be shadowing operators in CERN’s control rooms (LHC, ATLAS, CMS, ALICE, LHCb, TOTEM)!
You’re invited to join in the festivities at the Globeshow – bring along friends and family members! For more information, visit: http://www.cern.ch/nuitdeschercheurs/
The Press Release is available at: http://press.web.cern.ch/press/PressReleases/Releases2010/PR17.10E.html
On Wednesday 22 September at 20:30, you can attend Physikshow – an entertaining and educational two-hour show about physics. Directed and performed by students from the University of Bonn, the show has consistently sold out ever since its first performance in 2002 in Germany. The company has adapted the show into French for its visit to CERN.
Adapted for a general public.
