Houri Ziaeepour: Thank you. How much these measurements improve the test of GR with respect to lab experiments?
Lorenzo Iorio: In this case, it would be the first time that the 1PN J2 C^-2 effects would be measured. You need astronomical, highly oblate bodies. And also an elliptical orbit.
Lorenzo Iorio: Recently, C. Will investigated them for the supermassive Black Hole in Sgr A*
Toporensky: Is it posible to use final stage of Cassini mission for the same goal?
Lorenzo Iorio: Actually, I do not know. It depends on the profile mission. You should insert Cassini along a highly elliptical path.
Ludwig Combrinck: What about J4, J6 etc. do you think there could be a signal visible?
Lorenzo Iorio: Yes. Indeed, their accurate determination is one of the goals by Anderson et al. In this case, they would act as a bias, but they should have a different signature, allowing for a separation of their effects. And there is also J3 which could act as a semisecular bias. But it is hoped that they will be measured to an accuracy high enough to allow us to consider their mismodeling negligible.
Ludwig Combrinck: Of course one will need to have a very good idea of the actual shape of Jupiter to remove adequately the classical effects
Lorenzo Iorio: You need also models of perturbations valid not only for the spin axis directed along the z axis. But also for generic orientations of the spin axis: the spin of Jupiter does move and it is not aligned with the z axis of the frame which will be used.
Ludwig Combrinck: Has the Juno team considered VLBI on the spacecraft to help in accurate orbit determination?
Lorenzo Iorio: It is interesting. I do not know. You should ask Juno's people like Anderson, Iess.
