I had a question to you, which I didn't ask in view of our bad connection today:
You have mentioned pair interactions and violent relaxation as possible mechanisms of reaching equilibrium in a self-gravitating system.
There was an interesting mechanism of collective effects in such systems, proposed by V.G. Gurzadyan and G.K. Savvidi in Astrophys. J., V. 160, p.203 (1986). This mechanisms leads to relaxation time scale which is proportional to N^{2/3} and not to N/lnN as for pair interactions.
Can this mechanism influence your results?
