The linear mass density of exotic string is: in geometric units (G=c=1) mu=-1/4, in natural units (-1/4)c^2/G=(-1/4)mP/lP, where mP=sqrt(hbar*c/G), lP=sqrt(hbar*G/c^3). Note how hbar is cancelled from the result. It is since the result is purely classical. Also, in the units hbar=c=1, where mP=lP^-1, the result is (-1/4)mP^2, you are right.
