T=diag(rho,p,p,p) , rho =1/2*(df)^2 + V , p=1/2*(df)^2 - V, t<<1/m => rho=V p=-V => rho=-p

Dear Maxim,
Thank you for solution of the task.
To extend your analysis, please, consider the opposite case, when t>>1/m.
What is the equation of state in the Universe with such rapidly oscillaing homogeneous massive scalar field?
With the best regards

Dear Maxim,
The solution of my problem is much simpler and follows from your correct expression of pressure - its linear dependence on cosmt gives zero, after averaging over the period of field oscillations.
However your attempt to approach the case of Higgs potential is interesting, but in fact you cannot relate the appropriate value of the amplitude with the fundamental parameters of your potential (m and lambda). There may be no simple solution for that case, but to simplify the problem please find the equation of state at large t for pure quartic potential V=lambda fi^4

Dear Maxim,
Please, check your calculations for pressure of massive scalar field - it should be linearly dependent on the oscillating function.
In the new problem you have massless field with quartic self-interaction. V=lambda phi^4.

Dear Maxim,
Thank you.
The solution for the case V=1/2 m^2 phi^2 is correct, while in the case 1/4 lambda phi^4 is wrong.
You can find the correct treatment of this problem in our book with S.G.Rubin.
