Astroparticle Physics Forum COSMOVIA

In the current trend to massive online education the facility of Virtual Institute of Astroparticle physics can play a role of a supplementary refining tool, combining online lectures at distance with individual work on specific project.
In order to study possible relationship of VIA courses and the Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) with the aim to find the proper forms of integration of VIA courses in the MOOC process, we start this year an experimental VIA programme of open access to the 2 semester of M.Yu.Khlopov's course "Introduction to cosmoparticle physics".
These lectures are given to the students of 5th year educataion in the National Research Nuclear University "Moscow Engineering Physics Institute" (MEPhI), specialised in high energy physics. The records of the lectures of the 1 semester of this course may be found in the corresponding Russian part of our Forum. Here in the next post we'll put the slides of these lectures (in English) and in another post, we'll continuously renew information on the records of lectures of the 2 semester.
The online participation in the videoconferences of the VIA course will be possible starting from 12 February on Wednesdays from 10.45 to 12.10 Paris time. Few miniutes before this time interval the access to virtual room is possible just by click "to participate" on the announcement of a VIA regular lecture on the VIA home page http://viavca.in2p3.fr/site.html

To give an idea on the full M.Yu.Khlopov's course "Introduction to cosmoparticle physics" we put here slides of the lectures of the 1 semester. In the end of the 1 semester course students passed the exam. To be admitted to exam they had to put on Forum a small thesis, which they had continuously improve to reach at least satisfactory level.
In the second semester the work on this thesis is planned to be continued.

It is assumed that the main efforts in the 2 semester should be related with the work on referats. Therefore only three topics of Lectures are planned.

Nadezhda Proklova: What can you say about them? There were some experimental results.
OvsyannikovaMephi: Could you explain once again what is the difference between cosmic strings lenses and lenses as result of dark matter. What is the difference when we are observing it?
