F.Halzen: IceCube

This elusive particle gives may be the first experimental evidences for physics beyond the standard model. Neutrino mass and oscillations, their theory and experimental study are to be discussed here. All the aspects of neutrino physics and astrophysics, related with the problems of cosmological and astrophysical studies of new physics are welcome to discuss.

F.Halzen: IceCube

New postby Maxim Khlopov on Fri 24 Apr 2015 17:17

VIA Lecture by Prof. Francis Halzen "IceCube and the Discovery of High-Energy Cosmic Neutrinos" was given on
The following questions were put and comments made during it.
Shantanu: Just a clarification. You mean fireball model of GRBs is ruled out?
Shantanu: Maybe you mentioned this, but is Anita sensitive to the flux of these Tev neutrinos detected by Icecube?
Shantanu: I presume there is no contamination/background from charm neutrinos?
You are welcome to continue discussion of this exciting problem in replies to this post.
