B.Bonga:Resonances in BH spacetimes and neutron stars

Astrophysical studies makes possible to use natural cosmic objects as unique particle laboratories. Effects of new physics in cosmic rays and electromagnetic radiation, in stars and galaxies, indirect effects of dark matter , in particular, are the subjects of this topic of Forum

B.Bonga:Resonances in BH spacetimes and neutron stars

New postby Maxim Khlopov on Tue 2 Jun 2020 14:04

VIA APC Theory seminar by Beatrice Bonga "Resonances in black hole space-times and neutron stars" was given on 02.06.2020. Its presentation is attached and the record
will appear soon.
The following questions were put in the course of talk and discussion
Deruelle: What is the significance of alpha and beta ? Are they just numbers ?
Deruelle: How is the accretion disk modeled ?
Deruelle: What about the spin of the small BH of mass mu ? Do you take it into account ?
O.M. Lecian: what does the spin of the secondary BH modify?
Adrien Druart: Do you make some assumption on the magnitude of M_* (e.g. M_*~mu) ?
Deruelle: The imaginary part means in dot Carter exponetial instability ?
Deruelle: what is delta phi ?
Julié: what is the role of the spins on delta phi?
Julié: I would expect resonances to depend on spins and angular velocity..?
Deruelle: why 10^47 ergs ?
David Langlois: could the heating change the superfluid nature of the NS interior ?
Bernard: Thanks, very interesting. Is there a paper about this?
