Fereshteh Rajabi:Dicke’s Superradiance

Astrophysical studies makes possible to use natural cosmic objects as unique particle laboratories. Effects of new physics in cosmic rays and electromagnetic radiation, in stars and galaxies, indirect effects of dark matter , in particular, are the subjects of this topic of Forum

Fereshteh Rajabi:Dicke’s Superradiance

New postby Maxim Khlopov on Fri 28 Sep 2018 15:50

VIA lecture by Dr.Fereshteh Rajabi "Dicke’s Superradiance -- From millisecond fast radio bursts (FRBs) to multiyear maser bursts" was given on 28.09.2018. PDF of her presentation is attached and the record is in VIA library:

The following questions were put and comments were made in the course of the lecture
Shantanu: what determines the difference between laser and a maser? What governs the wavelength of emission?
J.R. Cudell: should one use asymmetric wave functions for atoms with an odd number of electrons?
Shantanu: what kind of states are these?
Shantanu: states with different n, l, ml, ms? or ciompletely different quantum numbers are used for this?
Shantanu: Just wanted to draw attention to some work done 40 years ago by Larry Mertz who had argued that pulsars are mode locked lasers. Since this is not well known, I will share the reference
