M.Patil:Over-spinning Kerr geometry and UHECR

Astrophysical studies makes possible to use natural cosmic objects as unique particle laboratories. Effects of new physics in cosmic rays and electromagnetic radiation, in stars and galaxies, indirect effects of dark matter , in particular, are the subjects of this topic of Forum

M.Patil:Over-spinning Kerr geometry and UHECR

New postby Maxim Khlopov on Fri 4 Mar 2016 18:25

VIA lecture by Prof. Mandar Patil ''Can over-spinning Kerr geometry be the source of ultra-high-energy cosmic rays and neutrinos ?'' was given on 04.03.2016. It's presentation is attached and the record is in VIA library
http://viavca.in2p3.fr/mandar_patil.html
The following questions were put in the Discussion:
Shantanu: so can you get this acceleration given the observed spins from the LIGO detection? Since the spins were less than 1.
Mandar: Acceleration is not possible if spins are less than one. Spin has to be larger than one
Shantanu: so presumably LIGO should be able to detect a population of black holes with spin > 1 as evidence for your model?
You are welcome to continue discussion in replies to this post.
